First, I want to remind you about the rules aiming at effectiveness and productivity of our work and then recap your home task again.
Rules:
1) Attendance:
· not to miss classes without reasonable excuses (in this case I expect medical certificates to be shown): we will write dictations or present reports, monologues, etc. almost each lesson, so if you are absent you get zero points for these tasks and this way you lower your final mark (which is a simple average)).
2) Diligence:
· to be active at classes—this is especially important to you if you want to see any progress in developing you speaking and listening skills by the end of the year);
· to keep your own vocabulary notebooks and use our active vocabulary in your speech;
3) Punctuality:· To be on time for classes
· To hand in all the works before the defined deadline (otherwise—a lower mark or rejection depending on the circumstances (almost met deadline, a medical certificate, etc.)).
Home task:
1) Read the texts about Bugs and Glitches pp.6-7, do Ex-s on pp.7-8 (except Ex.4)
2) Be able to retell the text "iPhone Alarm Bug Lets Europeans Snooze an Extra Hour" (the attached file). Don't forget to express your own opinon.
3) Here is the list of Russian words and phrases to be found in the texts of U.1 (or in your notes) in English:
